Welcome to 8th Grade!
Although each grade is exciting and challenging, Grade 8 is especially so because it is the gateway to high school.
After years of training and instruction in spiritual, academic, and social areas,
grade eight presents the final opportunity for students to “polish” and “cement” their skills before moving on
to the next level of education.
All of these preparations lead up to graduation.
We, the STA family, are both elated and humbled by our graduates each June.
Each one of them goes forward as the end result of years of hard work and dedication by students, parents, teachers, and clergy.

"The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and
to think critically. Intelligence plus character–that is the goal of true education."

8th graders switch between the 4 upper grade teachers for the core subject areas of Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
In Language Arts, the students focus on solidifying their skills in grammar, writing, spelling, and vocabulary.
In Math, there is a strong focus on preparing for Algebra and beginning Algebra skills.
