Greetings to my new 4th Graders,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer. Just as important is making time to practice the Reading and Math skills you have learned so far.
See the 2 red buttons in the Summer Reading section to the right? One button is the Book Report Form that will be due on the first day back at school. The other red button will show you the list of books you may choose from and use to complete your Book Report Form. The reading and the Book Report Form are both due on the first day of school. Points will be lost for late work.
Now it’s time to get ready for 4th grade math. This year we are implementing a summer math program. I’m asking that each student log into XtraMath. Students will not be required to log into XtraMath a certain number of times per week, but the more they practice the better they will get with their facts and will be able to achieve the required accuracy. Multiplication and division facts are an important part of the 4th grade curriculum, so this summer I will be looking at multiplication and division accuracy. The accuracy goal for multiplication is 95% and division is 85%. Their first math grade will be based on their accuracy achieved at the end of the summer. A letter that explains how to log in to Xtramath was sent home. If that letter and its login details cannot be found, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a wonderful summer!
