The Program

The STA Extended Care Program is available to families who, because of work schedules, need the convenience of an early morning drop off or late pick up after school.  Children attending the program will experience a diversity of activities including indoor and outdoor scheduled play, study and snack.  Our staff works together to provide individual attention and security in an atmosphere of respect and understanding.

Times and Days

The program is available to students in Kindergarten through grade 8 Monday through Friday except during vacations, holidays, snow days and half days.

Morning Session: 7 - 8:15 AM.  For delayed openings we will follow the delay (90 minutes) and open at 8:30 AM.

Afternoon Session: Kindergarten and grades 1-8, 2:30 – 5:30 PM. 

*On early release days the afternoon session will begin at 1 PM.

COST

Morning Session: $3.00 per day.  All children arriving at school prior to 8:15 AM will be sent to the morning program and charged a daily rate.

Afternoon Session: $4.00 for the first hour and $3.00 for each additional hour.  There will be no breakdown for ¼ or ½ hours.  If you use the afternoon program on a weekly basis (5 days) and there are two or more children in your family, the weekly maximum charge for the family is $60.00.  A penalty fee will be charged for pick-ups after 5:30 PM. 

Late pick-up fees
If you pick up your child later than 5:30 you will be billed a late fee.  The fee is $10.00 for the first 5 minutes and $1.00/minute for each additional minute.  More than three late pick-ups in one school year could result in your child’s exclusion from the daycare program.

Payment

Prepayment on Monday for your anticipated weekly usage is the preferred method of payment.  If you are a weekly user, payment is due the Monday of the week daycare is provided.  If you are a daily user, payment is due on the day of service.  If you call during the afternoon for your child to stay for the program, you will be expected to pay when you pick up your child.  It is important that all accounts be kept up to date. 

Payments should be sent to school in an envelope marked “DAYCARE”.  Credits will be applied to future weeks.  Payments can be made in cash or check payable to STA.  If paid by check, do not include any other items such as hot lunch, tuition, etc.  A $20.00 fee will be charged for any check returned by the bank. 

If your balance is more than 30 days in arrears your child will not be allowed to use the daycare program until the account is paid in full. 

Snack
A light snack and drink are provided daily. Please let us know if your child has an allergy to certain foods or drinks. Children may bring their own snacks to eat during snack time. This is especially helpful if your child prefers a larger snack than we provide.

Clothing
For the comfort of your child, a set of play clothes should be provided but is not necessary. Since we will be going out everyday, appropriate outdoor clothing is especially important. Hats, mittens, boots, etc. should be sent as soon as the weather turns cool. Children will not be allowed to play in the snow unless they have hats, mittens, boots and snow pants.  All clothes should be sent to school in a bag. Please label all clothing with your child's name.

Emergency Numbers
Before any child is allowed to participate in the daycare program, a Registration Form must be completed. This form lists all pertinent information in the event we need to contact you, medical information, and a list of people you have chosen as alternate pick-ups. NO CHILD WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE WITH ANYONE UNLESS THEY ARE INCLUDED ON YOUR LIST OF ALTERNATES!
